Can we with due concise consideration bring to our minds a simple rule? A truth that we lie to each other at this time of year, that if we told the truth we would shy from for the rest of the year?

Can we not agree to put an end to war? To famine, to poverty? To the basic needs met by each and everyone of us?  They say ” don’t let a animal suffer the winter without shelter”  but what of the veterans?  Those who placed their lives on the line for our so called freedoms?  Those who are now thrown on the dustpile of life. We as a world have more ex soldiers, sailors, airmen who through no fault of their own are now on the streets of our fair cities and towns and local government seems to hold these fine brave warriors in contempt.
These men and women who served our causes, who fought and were prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice that any human can give,  turned aside,  and govern the child shoulder once the need is passed. I treat these men and women with such disregard,  with such distain as if touching or even smiling to these people would in some way Cause us an illness. And yet when these same people return from the battle front reguardless of where that front is, we showed them in cheap tin and ribbons. Say thank you, then hand them redundancy notices. How can this marry with notion that we respect our service men and women? HOW?

I had the very fine privilidge and honour to attend the local vet day ride out for xmas, a few days ago. Wish I had known then as I went in a party dress which btw was bloody freezing!  But I will say there was no finer gentlemen on the planet.    We raised glasses to fallen comrades and friends, brothers and sisters alike. I listened to their stories, their deeds, with fascination. And then with a degree of horror and sadness  as they read out taps.

Taps recalls the dead, the missing those who lost limbs brothers sisters of the human race. Tears in the eyes of men and women who fought and had lost family in wars, where joined by tears of those lost to the streets. To The Streets.!  What the fuxk! Seriously how can we as a so called civilized society dare to hold its head up!  For shame!  For shame. We paid our dues this old guy on a triumph tripple said, we paid them, now we must humiliate ourselves to beg for help. It is my last run on my bike, I need to sell it to pay for the rent for the next few months. As I have been sanctioned for being right minutes late, trying to park the bike outside the office.
The stories they spoke of the hardships they now face, after being abandoned by our so called caring sharing government, makes for sad tears of shame. How can we treat these people this way? We shoot horses for less!. We spare a few coolers each year for worthy causes, we cry over animal rescues, do we really wish for peace on earth and goodwill for all men?  Or do we legislate against those homeless people that make our cities untidy? Can we really hold our heads up and ignore the elephant in the street?I can’t. And I won’t!
Can we with due concise consideration bring to our minds a simple rule? A truth that we lie to each other at this time of year, that if we told the truth we would shy from for the rest of the year?
Not if there is an ounce of humanity left in you.
Have a cool yule Rose.x
